Our Story

Sierra Diablo Founders Smiling

Growing up in multicultural San Antonio, married founders Erick and Josie Gill Schlather would often travel to West Texas to visit Josie’s family property which had been a working ranch since the 1870’s. After a day spent exploring the Sierra Diablo Mountains, they enjoyed a pair of their favorite cervezas and flavorful hot sauces that had been heritage staples—and in Northern Mexico’s home kitchens—for generations. Inspired, the couple agreed the experience should be shared with the world.

After a few recipe successes and failures, they created their own original take on the salsas. They are ready to be served and shared around your own table, or cooked with in a variety of recipes. They hope you’ll love them as much as they do.

 

Sierra Diablo blends the spicy heat of the West Texas deserts with the cool, creamy flavors of South Texas soul—without the cream, of course.
